February is almost over and so much is going on in our lives that it has been tough to stop to blog about it. For one, I'm going to be an AUNT! Most of you, though, already know that. The little baby Hays is due to arrive in September. The E-man is so excited to have a cousin. We love you and can't wait, Bri & Kel!!!

In other news, we celebrated my mom's birthday, we have had a stomach flu, and I have started back to work on a PRN basis. This has been the biggest challenge of my career as mommy. I don't know if I will ever get used to dropping him off at "school". So that is an overview...now here's all the cute pictures!

Remember this swing from the newborn days? He doesn't really fit anymore but he loved relaxing for a few minutes with George. Evan's first Valentine's Day! He LOVES balloons. This one's still afloat in our living room and comes in handy for any temper tantrum that is starting to erupt.

What's better than cupcakes, wine and a good competitive game on valentine's day?

Growing up TOO fast. Here's the big guy brushing his teeth with his new big boy toothbrush.

Getting excited for bedtime!

First time with green beans.

Learning another important grooming skill.

The big boy carseat! He loves that he can see out a little better even if he is facing backward still.

So cute in his winter gear.
Anna made this cake for my mom for her birthday...she's quite the pastry chef.

Healthy Child, Healthy World

I have been reading this book since the holidays and have to say that it is my new addiction. It talks about how we should take precautionary measures to protect ourselves and the environment we live in from chemicals and toxins that MAY be harmful. My thought is that if something hasn't been proven to be safe, we shouldn't be using it.

Of course, now with the E-man starting to eat "table foods", crawl on the floor and explore all things with his mouth, it is my job to make sure it is safe. What I like about this book is that it offers simple, realistic steps I can take to make his world a little safer. Clearly, not everything can be avoided and it would drive me mad trying to live that lifestyle. But it's been easy (and satisfying) to take a few steps.

January Fun

Despite the cold weather and a few snowy days, January has been pretty fun. Here are a few pics to show you what we've been up to...

Evan loves making this face...we think he's pretty funny!
Peek-a-boo thru the crib slats...love the chubby fingers. Relaxing in his bed. He prefers resting to trying to make a getaway by crawling. He's curious, but just not motivated to make a move if a toy is out of reach. We'll give it some more time.

Playing with the dog and toys...they sort of go hand in hand these days. Such a happy little guy, too. He is starting to show lots of new emotions. Frustration is his newest.

Showing Nana his funny face.

He's more and more stable with standing. He's just starting to cruise around this table. Notice the "blue moose" pj's??

Evan & his books. We go through this box daily. He loves to turn the pages now.

Our 24 hour getaway. We spent last weekend in Weston (sans kid). It was great and such a cute little town. The famous O'Malley's Pub was a favorite of Kyle's.

The pub is a real brewery made back in the 1800's. It is way underground and made of stone. Pretty cool place.

New stuff

You've seen a picture of this before, but this table toy is amazing! It is his new favorite, throws a fit when I drag him away from it. He loves bouncing to all the music. Just the cutest picture ever, had to share. He's sorta beginning to clap his hands.

Swimming with mommy & daddy. Not the best pictures of us, but Evan is always cute. He wasn't sure what to do in the pool, we didn't see a single expression except his new "furrowing of the brows" look. The Y is great cause they have "free swim" throughout the day.We may be starting lessons in February.

The first Christmas

Happy New Year! The holidays were so much fun with the E-man and getting to visit our families and friends. I look forward to that time of year every year, but as soon as the new year hits I'm always ready to clean out, organize, do new things and recommit to things I've started or wanted to do for a while now. We'll see how long I can keep up with these plans. Here are some pictures from the holidays.

Loved the packaging more than anything!

His new mode of transportation at Grandma's.

Snowed in (sorta)

Today it was a "snow" day without the snow. It was SO cold that we just hunkered down and didn't go anywhere. I think a high of 9 degrees was all the warmer it got. Anyway, Evan and I stayed in our pj's and sweats all day and I had to take a few pictures. Ho! Ho! Ho!

see those teeth! finally i captured them in a picture.
now do you understand why i asked for new lamps for the bedroom?!?!

obviously the next few are not from today but i think they are adorable!
